Team Utah Park City’s First Day of the Season

shane crail bs 1

Our first day of training for the season at Park City Mountain Resort was all time.

Soft, perfectly groomed park and a few dozen up and coming shredders taking their first set of laps as an official team for this season.

The day’s roster included some of our veterans, as well as some new comers to the team.

We balanced out the day refreshing our carving skills and freeriding, with a solid park session. With how strong everyone was shredding the I Ride PC terrain park off the 3 Kings lift we can’t wait to see the progression that this season brings.

This edit was all filmed on our first day, December 1st, and features this year’s Team Utah Park City riders.

Pre-season cross training

We think snowboarding is both a sport and a lifestyle. To progress at the sport of snowboarding we cross train to become better snowboard athletes. Our snowboard specific cross training programs are hosted in multiple locations across Utah. We train at Black Diamond Gymnastics, Airborne, Snogression, USSA’s Center of Excellence, skateparks, and the great outdoors. This week we’ve got 3 cross training sessions lined up: Sunday @ Black Diamond Gymnastics in Park City, Tuesday @ Snogression in Salt Lake, and Thursday at the Center of Excellence.

After Thanksgiving week we’ll start riding as a team at locations across the state as we get ready for a busy contest season.

Photo Recap of the team trip to HCSC’s 2013 Session 1

Despite the weather in Oregon deciding to be a bit cranky during the trip, we were still able to shred hard and get it done on the mountain and in the skate park. This was due to the solid crew that attended, including Dawsen Derksen, Jacob and Scott Podmilsak, Garry Stein, Chase Wiskerchen, Jacob Hunsaker, and Coach Jacob Levine.

The only true bummer about the trip was the rogue skateboard that shot into Dawsen’s ankle, making it so that he had to take some of the days off from snowboarding while the bruise and swelling healed.

On our last day of shredding, we found a window of light thru the clouds and built this rock gap.

Pictured below is Jacob Podmilsak, aka J-pod, tweaking a method, using his own unique line for the rock gap.
